We have only 8 rooms for the dogs which is by the far the less crowded in Singapore.

S$30 per day for big dogs eg. Golden Retriever, Labrador

S$25 per day for small & medium size dogs.

Long term boarding of at least 2 months is from $400 to $500 per dog per month.

Food: To be provided by dog owners.

At the beach yesterday

These 3 toy breeds of Pomeranian and 2 Chihuahua had a fun time at Changi beach yesterday. It was a 30 minutes ride to the beach and they enjoyed the car ride as well. Being a weekday, the beach was almost deserted. At first we brought them to Pungol beach but it was not as good and clean as Changi. We will post a video of the outing in a short while.

Male dogs, especially those with a submissive personality, are usually better pets if they are neutered. They may have less desire to roam, to mark territory (including furniture), and, if neutered before sexual maturity, they may be less likely to exert dominance over family members. They may also be healthier pets: no testicles means no testicular cancer.

Females also tend to be better pets if they do not experience oestrus every six-to-nine months. Heat cycles bring hormonal changes that can lead to personality changes, and oestrus females must be confined to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Repeated heat cycles may subject the reproductive system to uterine and mammary cancers as they age. Some bitches experience false pregnancies that can be a bother to deal with and uterine infections that can be fatal.

All About Ticks on Dogs, Dog Tick Removal & Prevention by Krista Mifflin

Ticks seem to be the product of one of Nature's foul moods. A real little nasty critter, it hides out in grass and catches the unsuspecting passerby. Crawling up to bare skin, or digging for it, if you're a dog, the tick will bury it's head under the skin layer and proceed to drink all the blood it can get.

If you live in tick-country, a daily check during the summer season is essential. Rub your hands all over your dog's body, and your fingers through his fur, applying pressure, enough that you can feel any abnormalities in the skin. If you feel a small lump, pull the fur apart to investigate it further. An embedded tick will look like a small black or brown pimple, sometimes flat-ish, depending on location, and sometimes legs are visible.

How to Remove a Tick
You've located the little vampire and now you need to get him out of your dog.

Pull the surrounding hairs away from the ticks body.
Take the tweezers and grasp the tick as close to the buried head as you can possibly get.
Do not squeeze, but pull gently up and away from the dog, slowly to be sure not to break off the head of the tick.
Toss tick in toilet and flush. Wash your hands and your dog's skin with anti-bacterial soap.
If you suspect you may have left a piece of tick still embedded under your pet's skin, please seek veterinary care immediately. The resulting infections could be horrible, and ticks carry a plethora of nasty diseases.

Important Note: Some species of ticks carry Lyme Disease, and you may need to take the removed tick in to have it identified by a veterinarian. If you live in an area where ticks are a common hazard, check with your veterinarian and find out if the Lyme Disease vaccine is available.

Tick Prevention
Tick preventatives are often sold by prescription only, so your dog may need to have a vet check-up beforehand. All of these tick preventatives kill adult ticks that attach themselves to the dog, and all are combination pesticides (kills parasites, too).

Using a tick preventative is a very good way to protect your dog from lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases, but your diligence in finding and removing ticks before they attach is the best preventative measure of all.

Above is Louis the neutered 7 year old French Bulldog at Dog Sitter Singapore. Louis recently arrived from Chicago with his owners,Mary and Marty.
Louis had been quarantined for a month in S'pore before returning to Mary & Marty.
Louis is here because the owners are back in Chicago for a 3 week vacation.
Although it's Louis first time here,he is very relaxed and at home here with us.
